Bike RacingSupermotard racing bikes originated in the early 1980's in the United States. Part of a concept to test riders from different motorcycling disciplines against one another, supermotord races are typically made up of 70% tarmac and 30% dirt racing with small jumps included. Mark's son, Ben, just 16 years old, is one of the youngest competitors in the supermotords in New Zealand and has increasingly enjoyed success on the track as he gains more experience. Ben rode at this years Paeroa Street races in February , where the race was confined solely to tarmac. He has since raced several times at Taupo Motorsport Park where they have introduced an off-road section to the racing, and regularly attends races and track days at both Taupo and Manfield. Ben has also competed in other classes of motorbike racing. This year Warden Consulting welcomes experienced and successful New Plymouth rider Craig Flood to their team.
